About Us

In its final report, VisionBROWARD, a community economic development partnership, brought the issue of affordable housing to the forefront of discussion.  With several individual groups already researching the problem, it became apparent that a collaboration was needed to make the vision a reality.  Thus, what began as informal group meetings to discuss the possibility of hosting a joint Affordable Housing Summit, quickly developed into the Broward Housing Partnership, Inc. (BHP), a coalition of over seventy organizations, from developers to government officials to bankers to local businesses, all with an interest in assuring affordable housing for the region.  The Broward Housing Partnership has since incorporated and has began its mission to pioneer new approaches, create new tools, and influence housing policy to improve the production and sustainability of affordable housing through its consortium of active member organizations in Broward County. 

The Broward Housing Partnership held its Affordable Housing Summit on October 5th and 6th which helped educate affordable housing stakeholders and encourage participants to work together to develop solutions and consensus to address affordalbe housing issues.  The Broward Housing Partnership is compiling a working list of the tools available to municipalities, developers, and individuals seeking to either build or obtain affordable housing as well as developing additional resources that should be created to further assist these groups.
