2005-2006 Accomplishments

• Engaged over 100 organizations, including local businesses, community organizations, and government agencies  regarding the housing crisis over the past year;

• Hosted the BHP Affordable Housing Summit with twelve nationally recognized speakers and over 500 participants from the public, private and community sectors;

• Created informative website with upcoming events, legislative updates, and housing reports that has received over 170,000 hits in the past 8 months;

• Compiled the BHP Tools Index, a working list of existing, underutilized and new tools available to municipalities, developers, and individuals seeking to either build or obtain affordable housing;

• Collaborated with Miami-Dade and West Palm Beach to address the housing issue on a regional basis; 

• Completed the first countywide BHP Housing Needs Assessment in conjunction with the Florida International University ’s Metropolitan Center.
